A Path Beyond

Leading up to the capture of this image, we had traveled through the early hours of the morning from the other side of the island to meet a new friend at her boat, in hopes of scoring some waves at a new and unfamiliar surf break. While we were not looking too lucky, with winds raging and a storm looming in the distance, we loaded ourselves and our gear onto the boat and started making our way toward the wave. While motoring to the break, I noticed a huge rainbow touching down on the horizon, brightening almost in real time as we made our way close.

In the split second that followed, I put my camera up to my eye and captured this image. A wave passing through greeting this beautiful scene of “A Path Beyond”.
